Flight Instructor (FI) Rating Scholarships
​​2 x Flight instructor scholarships - Applications open now!
​
The Flight Instructor Rating Scholarships support qualified pilots who wish to progress into instructional roles, helping to develop the next generation of aviators and strengthen the wider aviation community.
​
These scholarships are funded by the BALPA Benevolent Fund and administered by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots (HCAP).
​
Funding contributes towards the cost of an approved FI Rating course. Application timelines, eligibility requirements, and assessment processes will be managed by HCAP.

Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Scholarships
3 x PPL scholarships

The BBF’s PPL Scholarships are designed to support individuals taking their first steps into flying, helping to remove financial barriers to gaining a Private Pilot Licence.
​
These scholarships are funded by the BALPA Benevolent Fund and administered by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots (HCAP), who bring extensive experience in managing aviation scholarship programmes.
​
Successful applicants will receive full financial support towards approved flight training.

ATPL Theory Scholarships
5 x ATPL Scholarships - Applications will open April 2026

The ATPL Theory Scholarships are aimed at pilots progressing towards professional airline careers, supporting the significant costs associated with Airline Transport Pilot Licence theory training.
​
These scholarships are funded by the BALPA Benevolent Fund and administered by The Air League.
​
Successful candidates will receive support towards approved ATPL theory courses. The course will be provided by Bristol Ground School
